The Interpretive Mode, one of the three modes of communication, involves the viewing, listening or reading of authentic documents - documents that are created by native speakers for other native speakers.

2015 ACTFL Teacher of the Year, Nicole Naditz, explains the theory and explores the practice of this inextricable link between authentic texts and developing interpretive mode through concrete classroom examples that you can quickly begin using in your classroom.
